European Traditions Infused with Maryland Soul

Magdalena features thoughtfully created bistro fare inspired by the classic dishes of France, the comforts of England and the vast spirit of Baltimore. The seasonally evolving menu highlights a playful yet sophisticated take on classics driven by the bounty of the Chesapeake Bay region.

Ingredients are sourced close to home and relationships with local farmers and purveyors are at the heart of the culinary philosophy.  A cheeky cocktail program, Wine Spectator awarded wine list, and revered whiskey collection complete a delightfully unmatched dining experience.

Located on the ground floor of Mount Vernon’s Ivy Hotel, Magdalena’s newly imagined interior balances neighborhood charm and modern elegance. Each of the five handsomely adorned dining spaces exhibit an organic yet refined approach to design, with classic bistro touches throughout. The courtyard garden welcomes guests for outdoor dining in a sanctuary like oasis that feels like the best kept secret in Baltimore city.

Other dining rooms include The Garden Room, which looks out onto The Ivy’s walled Courtyard; the intimate, romantic Treasury – where sterling and crystal were once kept under lock and key; the vaulted, brick-floored Robert Parker Wine Cellar; the cozy and private Tasting Room; and the welcoming, convivial Bar.

AWARD-WINNING

Executive Chef Mark Levy

Levy, a classically-trained, award-winning chef, has traveled the world exploring cultures and cuisines from the African lowlands to French mountain villages. He tells the story of those journeys – and traditions closer to home – on the plate. High-quality, local, seasonal ingredients are at the forefront of the menu. Revelatory simplicity, subtle complexity. It all goes hand-in-hand with a wine cellar of great depth and variety, the finest malt whiskeys, and some of the most delicious craft beers ever brewed.
